Examples are family meetings, a family constitution, a family steering group, a development advisory group, the family website and the Jacksons' Journal

Bruntwood Estates was named the 2004 Exemplar in Social Responsibility for demonstrating how business ethics and performance can help in the growth of a successful company.

A few of its many honourable Social Responsibility practices are:
  • Defined contribution of annual net profits
  • A family driven, highly integrated four-stream approach to charitable activities
  • The Oglesby Charitable Trust
  • The Bruntwood Community Fund
In 2004, 25 family firms were nominated for the Family Business Honors in three categories: Family Governance, Business Success and Social Responsibility.

Overall nine companies were shortlisted:

  • Business Success: The Miller Group Ltd, OCS Group Ltd, William Reed Publishing Ltd
